Frequently Asked Questions
What information should I include with my inquiry?
Provide the type of transaction, estimated purchase price or financing amount, industry, location, and current stage of the deal. Buyers should also share a brief summary of their experience and available equity. Business brokers can include the listing memorandum or available financial information so we can better understand the opportunity.
What documents are needed to review a business acquisition?
An initial financing review typically requires three years of business tax returns, a current year-to-date profit and loss statement, a balance sheet, the seller’s discretionary earnings or adjusted EBITDA calculation, and the proposed purchase price. Buyer financial information and relevant industry experience may also be needed before a transaction can be evaluated fully.
What happens after I submit the contact form?
Our team will review the information provided and contact you to discuss the acquisition, merger, or expansion. We may request additional financial documents before determining which financing structure could fit the transaction. If we identify a major issue, we will address it early rather than allowing the parties to lose time pursuing an unworkable structure.
How soon will someone respond to my inquiry?
Contact requests are reviewed during our regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Central Time. Providing complete transaction details and accurate contact information can help us respond more efficiently. Requests submitted outside normal business hours will be reviewed during the next available business day.
Can business brokers contact Lendway before listing a business?
Yes. Business brokers can contact us before taking a business to market or after a buyer has been identified. An upfront review of the financials, debt service, and proposed add-backs can uncover potential financing concerns early and help brokers better understand how a qualifying acquisition may need to be structured.
Is Lendway Capital Advisors a lender or bank?
No. Lendway Capital Advisors is not a lender or a bank. We advise on business acquisition and merger financing and help structure qualifying transactions with appropriate funding sources. We focus on established businesses and do not provide personal loans, homeowner financing, startup financing, or general commercial real estate loans.
Does Lendway finance commercial real estate by itself?
Lendway’s focus is on business acquisitions and established-business financing. Commercial real estate may be included when it is part of an eligible owner-occupied business acquisition, but the firm does not position itself as a source for standalone investment-property financing.
